Our purpose is to know, love and serve Christ.

Dear PUMC family,

Thanks to your support and generosity, the Missions Committee has been able to support the following with their time and your donations in 2023.

LENTEN FOOD DRIVE for FAYETTE CARES - 179 food items from their wish list were collected and donated.

$300 was donated to LAKESHORE METHODIST CAMP AND RETREAT CENTER for the Campers fund which provides scholarships to young people who are not able to afford the experience of Lakeshore.

$400 was collected and donated to UMCOR.

SOUTHWEST ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - 304 items were donated to the children for their back to school supply needs.

HANNAH'S HOPE - $220 was donated.

GOLDEN CROSS SENIOR LIVING - We donated sheets and pillow cases, bath towels, wash cloths, kitchen towels and tools, paper products, cards and puzzles for a person to move into one of the Senior Living apartments.

PIPERTON FIRE DEPARTMENT - We began a ministry to provide snacks biweekly for firefighters.  Members of the congregation have contributed snacks and money to help provide for this ministry.

SOMERVILLE NURSING HOME CHRISTMAS PARTY - We provided refreshments, gifts and Christmas music for the residents.

AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY HOPE LODGE - $255 was donated from the miniature Christmas stockings.

SOMERVILLE NURSING HOME - We provided 35 lap blankets for the residents.

Members of the Missions Committee served lunch at Calvary Mission once a month and provided knitted hats at Christmas for the children they serve.

 

The Missions Committee wishes to thank you for your generosity and support and we look forward to serving the needs of others in the coming year.
