Commission on Missing & Exploited Children , COMEC - This organization, COMEC, is the ONLY non-profit missing children’s organization in Tennessee. They administer the region’s AMBER Alert. COMEC is a small group with the huge task of implementing and administering programs designed to protect the children of the Mid-South from predators of all kinds, those they might encounter in public and on the internet. They search for missing children. They also provide child identification cards, fingerprinting kits, in-home drug testing kits, counseling and Internet safety seminars.
Lakeshore United Methodist Assembly - Lakeshore United Methodist Assembly offers 1,100 acres of woods, streams, and lakes; a quiet place that shouts the good news that all of us, young and old, are children of God. To compliment and support the ministry of the United Methodist Church, schools, and other non-profit groups, Lakeshore provides varied year round programming whether in comfortable cabins or wilderness tents. Some come to rest, to have fun, to grow in their understanding of environmental stewardship, to study and reflect, or, through experiential learning, to find God and each one's place in God's world. Our purpose is for all to know that they have been in the presence of God. (UPDATE: 9/21/08 If you do any of your shopping on the Internet, then you might want to use iGive.com . Through the use of their site, they will donate money to Lakeshore. All the proceeds we get will go to provide camperships to bring needy children and youth to camp. Check it out!)
Hannah's Hope - Hannah's Hope offers free, non-judgmental crisis pregnancy counseling and adoption services to families desiring the permanent placement of a child. Potential adoptive parents will receive guidance in discerning their best adoption option whether a domestic infant placement, working with an international adoptive agency or through the State Department of Children's Services to parent an older child.
Wesley Senior Ministries - Wesley Senior Ministries provides for and facilitates the enhancement of the quality of life of elderly persons and their families within the bounds of the Memphis Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church, without regard to race, creed, sex, handicapping condition, or the ability to pay.
Reelfoot Rural Ministries - In Christian love, Reelfoot Rural Ministries seeks to provide personal encouragement, material assistance, helpful training and spiritual guidance to children, the elderly, and low-income families in rural Northwest Tennessee and Southwest Kentucky, in a manner that enhances self-esteem and encourages self-support.
Children's Home of the Mountains - To provide a Christian environment where orphaned, neglected, and abused children can receive the physical and spiritual care and security needed to enable them to achieve their full potential. The goal is to help "hurting children" become "happy children". To help the homeless children of Coahuila, Mexico develop spiritually, intellectually, and emotionally so they may become responsible and productive citizens of Mexico. Children's Home of the Mountains recognizes these children are the future; it is our ambition to train them to become Godly leaders of Mexico.

Traditional Worship Service
We gather in Piperton UMC’s Sanctuary for Worship. You will hear uplifting sermons of hope and music that will inspire you toward a commitment of service. You will find yourself in an environment that will allow for a positive worship experience. Bring your entire family and see for yourself the seat we have saved for you. Our service is also streamed over Facebook live on Sundays for those who are unable to attend in person.

Ladies Bible Study - The group who calls themselves “Heart Sisters” began in April 2014 with 5 members. Today we have 15 members, most from outside PUMC. This is a multi-denominational video-based study group. Each attendee purchases their own book at a set price of $15.00 and the church covers the cost of all the Leader Material (with the overage paid for participant books going towards this.) We have built quite a library over the years which is stored in the church office. We meet throughout the year taking short breaks in between studies. When in session, our Ladies Bible Study - Heart Sisters - meets on Mondays at 11:00 a.m. in Piper Hall. Debbie Daubenhauser is the current facilitator.
Prayer Blanket Ministry - Piperton Church first became involved in this ministry in 2014 when a member of the Missions Committee shared her experience of participating in other Prayer Shawl Ministries. Not having many members who knew how to knit or crochet, the idea of starting a comfort ministry quickly evolved into making fleece blankets with a crochet border which would make the blankets unique to Piperton Church.
Donations were received, fleece purchased, and a group was assembled. To date, we are proud to say, we have distributed over 300 prayer blankets, some outside the state of Tennessee. We are also proud to say that a recipient of one of our prayer blankets was inspired to begin a Prayer Blanket Ministry in her home church.
Anyone is welcome to join this ministry. You do not have to be a member of Piperton UMC. You are encouraged to crochet at home or with friends. If you do not know how to crochet but would like to be a part of this ministry - consider purchasing and donating the fleece and/or yarn needed to make a blanket. Monetary donations to the Prayer Blanket Ministry are also accepted.
Our Prayer Shawl Ministry began well before our Prayer Blanket Ministry. Being introduced to the church members by a newcomer who had participated in other Prayer Shawl Ministries. There is no unique pattern to the shawls. They are made in various colors, designs and sizes. Each being prayed over by the person making it and by the congregation when presented for blessing.
We welcome all who wish to participate in this ministry, and we have supplies (yarn, knitting needles, crochet hooks) stocked and ready to share. We encourage you to knit or crochet at home or with friends. If you do not know how to knit or crochet and would like to take part, please consider supporting this ministry by partnering with someone who does and provide them with the materials to make a shawl. We also graciously accept monetary donations to this ministry.
For more information on either of these ministries, please contact the church office and you will be directed to a member of our Missions Committee.
Fayette Cares - A non-profit organization that works in conjunction with the Department of Human Services to provide food, shelter, clothing, and emergency assistance to Fayette County residents who are in need. Fayette Cares' two major programs include Hope's Cottage which gives a new beginning for homeless families in Fayette County and The Journey Center which counsels and provides a stable refuge for persons in an abusive relationship.
Hope’s Cottage, part of Fayette Cares , allows a transition from homelessness to independent living. Through Hope’s Cottage, homeless families will build the skills and resources needed to earn a living wage, effectively manage their finances, establish stable homes, and build strong families with bright futures. The four unit multi-family structure offers housing and support services for homeless families.
Core Values
- Written by: Webservant
Vision is not the same as Values, but these values remain vital because they support the vision that we have discovered. The vision sets our aim high and the values help us to live out the vision.
1. We believe that all that matters is doing God’s will.
Jesus said "...For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me." John 6:38 (NIV)
2. We believe that God deserves our best efforts.
And whatever you do or say, let it be as a representative of the Lord Jesus, all the while giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17 (NLT)
3. We believe that relevant, creative biblical teaching changes lives.
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It straightens us out and teaches us to do what is right. It is God's way of preparing us in every way, fully equipped for every good thing God wants us to do. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT)
4. We believe lost people matter to God therefore they matter to us.
Jesus said "...In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father's will that even one of these little ones should perish." Matthew 18:14 (NLT)
5. We believe that Christ-followers need an intentional spiritual growth plan.
You must crave pure spiritual milk so that you can grow into the fullness of your salvation. Cry out for this nourishment as a baby cries for milk... 1 Peter 2:2 (NLT)
6. We believe that every Christ-follower has a kingdom job to discover and do.
A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church. 1 Corinthians 12:7 (NLT)
7. We believe that we are called to minister beyond the church.
Jesus said "...But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." Acts 1:8 (NIV)
8. We believe that worship is a lifestyle as well as an event.
For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth. John 4:24 (NLT)
9. We believe that healthy relationships are essential to our life together.
Jesus said, "...So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples." John 13:34-35 (NLT)
10. We believe that ministry involves more than one minister.
Brothers, choose [disciples] from among you who are known to be full of the Spirit and wisdom. We will turn … responsibility over to them and will give our attention to prayer and the ministry of the word. Acts 6:3-4 (MSG)
