The "UMCOR Sunday" offering directly affects the ability of the United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) to respond immediately to disasters and other calamities.

UMCOR doesn't receive apportionment funds.  Because of gifts received through offerings like UNMCOR Sunday, UMCOR is able to cover its administrative costs.

When your church joins with other United Methodists to support UMCOR, you equip UMCOR staff to work globally to alleviate suffering and advance hope and healing.  Through relationships with local organizations and trained community leaders, UMCOR can activate its network and provide emergency funds as soon as they know of an urgent need.
